PW-P01 was a proof-of-concept gas-fed pulsed plasma thruster. Gaseous CO2 was used as fuel and the thruster operated with a 2kV voltage difference between electrodes. Ionization/ignition was achieved with an additional arcing electrode pair with a 20 kV voltage difference.
Testing was carried out under atmospheric pressure conditions, and a controlled reliable operation was achieved at ~1 Hz.
